Ever since Friedrich Merz shouted "Rambo Zambo!" after his election victory, the term has been on everyone's lips. Now an entrepreneur from the Sauerland region is getting serious: he has secured the slogan as a trademark - and wants to use it for a new party drink.

Brand protection for "Rambo Zambo" - a clever move

Roland Eickel, Managing Director of the "Sauerlända" company from Arnsberg, was quick to make up his mind: The slogan has potential! His company, which already sells clothing and spirits, is now expanding its range to include a new cranberry liqueur called "Sauerlända Rambo Zambo".

The idea behind it? A good mood and a spirit of optimism! A drink for parties - something that is fun and stands for positive energy. Political intentions? No way! Eickel explains that under no circumstances would they become political or use images of Friedrich Merz.

Trademark application: Faster than the competition

The fact that "Rambo Zambo" now belongs to him is thanks to Eickel's quick action. Shortly after the election, he registered the slogan with the trademark office - and was the only one! The name is now protected for product classes such as clothing, spirits, beer and non-alcoholic drinks.

The approval process may still take a few months, but the day of registration counts! And that was back in February. This means that no one else can secure the trademark .

How does Friedrich Merz react?

Eickel wasn't the only one to deal with "Rambo Zambo". Entertainer Stefan Raab even published a song about the CDU chancellor candidate - who took the opportunity to thank him personally via Instagram.

He does not expect a negative reaction from Merz, says Eikel. After all, it's about economic recovery, a key campaign issue for Merz. "Here in Sauerland, 'More Sauerland for Germany' was written everywhere. If we don't pick up on that, who will?"

On sale in four weeks - the "Rambo Zambo" liqueur is coming!

The plans are in place: The "Rambo Zambo" liqueur is set to go on sale in just a few weeks. Will it go as viral as the slogan? Only time will tell. But one thing is certain: the Sauerland entrepreneur has a golden nose for trends!
